The challenge

The successful collaboration with Shockerz Events goes back a couple of years. From concept to execution, Start Moovin supports raw hardstyle event Shockerz in every way possible, regarding their online marketing. Every since 2015 the event had been sold out each edition, partly because of the strong concept.

The success formula proved strong enough to withstand moving to the three times larger Autotron in 2017. The event sold out completely. To prove it wasn’t a one time success, we faced the challenge to create an even better experience for the visitors and to further strengthen and expand the online community around the brand Shockerz.

Our approach

RESPOND TO IMPROVEMENTS

Together with the organization we started looking at the concept’s USPs and bottlenecks. The first edition of Shockerz in Autotron was a big success on many levels, but there was still room for improvement. Because of force majeure there were some unforeseen problems with the temperature and sound quality, which led to dissatisfaction amongst the visitors. Obviously these bottlenecks had been handled for the 2018 edition, but we decided to let these improvements be a vital part of the campaign.

It’s was important to reveal the improvements to the visitors not as being just improvements, but as elements we made even better than before.

CONTINUE BUILDING ON STORYTELLING

Each year we spend a lot of time and devotion to storytelling, to submerge the visitors in a unique experience both before, during and after the event. We believe it contributes to a stronger brand experience and a greater connection with your visitors.

At the start of the campaign we gathered to brainstorm about a new theme a couple of times. The theme formed the thread which would run through the upcoming edition. Shockerz is an indoor raw hardstyle event with a mostly young target audience. Involvement, solidarity, association and emotion are important factors that people value greatly. That’s why we always use these key elements in any upcoming new theme, each time stepping away further from reality.

OPTIMIZING RETURN ON INVESTMENT

By constantly monitoring the ad-results from the REACTiVATE campaigns we were able to divide the budget neatly and boosted them on ads that led to a higher Return On Investment, instead of using fixed amounts. Constantly optimizing and upscaling the conversions, has resulted in Shockerz 2018 selling out completely even faster than before, one month before the event!
